{"id":459,"date":"2017-02-05T17:04:11","date_gmt":"2017-02-05T22:04:11","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/thewannabegourmet.com\/?p=459"},"modified":"2017-02-05T17:04:11","modified_gmt":"2017-02-05T22:04:11","slug":"slow-cooker-teriyaki-chicken-with-rice","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/thewannabegourmet.com\/?p=459","title":{"rendered":"Slow Cooker Teriyaki Chicken with Rice"},"content":{"rendered":"<div style='text-align:left' class='yasr-auto-insert-visitor'><\/div><p><a href=\"https:\/\/thewannabegourmet.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/02\/teriyakichicken.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-460\" src=\"https:\/\/thewannabegourmet.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/02\/teriyakichicken.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"497\" height=\"307\" srcset=\"https:\/\/thewannabegourmet.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/02\/teriyakichicken.jpg 497w, https:\/\/thewannabegourmet.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/02\/teriyakichicken-300x185.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 497px) 100vw, 497px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>2 pounds boneless skinless chicken breasts, cubed<br \/>\n3\/4 cup low-sodium soy sauce<br \/>\n3\/4 cup brown sugar<br \/>\n1\/2 cup rice vinegar<br \/>\n3 garlic cloves, minced<br \/>\n3\/4 teaspoon ginger paste (or 1 teaspoon ground, dried ginger)<br \/>\n2 tablespoons cornstarch<br \/>\n1\/4 cup water<br \/>\n1\/4 cup scallions, diced<\/p>\n<p>Place cubed chicken in bottom of the slow cooker.<\/p>\n<p>Whisk together next five ingredients (soy sauce, sugar, rice vinegar, garlic and ginger paste). Pour over chicken and stir to combine.<\/p>\n<p>Cover and cook on low for four hours.<\/p>\n<p>Using a slotted spoon, remove chicken. Turn slow cooker to high. In another dish (or coffee mug) mix cornstarch with water until smooth with no lumps.
